"Punative Risk Level system"

About: Locked & Specialist Rehab / Hereward Wake

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The risk level system is punitive and used as a punishment. When we are transitioning between wards, the staff on the new ward need to be more welcoming please and more encouraging please. Also bring back smoking and improve the food.

Thank you for raising your concerns. The risk level system is used to ensure safe management of our patients and is certainly not intended to be used as a punishment. I understand that the risk level system on your ward has been discussed recently in the Community Meeting whereby patients were asked to feedback their ideas/suggestions. I would urge you to raise any concerns you may have at these weekly meetings where issues such as food quality, smoking and anything relating to patient care can be discussed openly with the team. Your opinions are important to us and help us to make continuous improvements to meet your needs and wellbeing.
