I had a right knee replacement in July 2010. I was extremely apprehensive as I had never been an in patient before. However, I had no need to worry because from the time of my preoperation assessment I was treated with kindness throughout.
All the staff were helpful and cheerful and the ward was kept clean at all times by the lovely cleaning lady. The early morning cup of tea was more than welcome and the food, although I was unable to eat it for a few days due to sickness, was varied, well presented and, above all, hot.
I have to have the other knee replaced in the not too distant future but i have lost my previous apprehension and would recommend the QMC to anyone about to undergo this operation.
