I want to make a difference and see if I can help to get things improved for patients. It's alright telling my story and at first I was a little withdrawn and shy, but as I have done more and more it has built my confidence up. There are times when I have been a little apprehensive but I think that's natural. I enjoyed being the patient rep. for my ward. I got a buzz when I could see something has changed. That is what I enjoyed from that aspect. I am on the road to recovery now and I am hoping for good things - hoping to get my conditional discharge. If I don't get it, I will ask for clearer goals of what I need to do. I am getting the support from the staff but it is about convincing the tribunal. I am at that stage now.
