"Broken collar bone"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my 2year old son to Hairmyres A&E today as I was worried he'd broken his collar bone after a fall down the stairs. Within an hour, he had been xrayed, diagnosed and treated. All the staff were really lovely with him, especially the doctor and radiographer. He absolutely loved the toys he was given to play with and they really helped take his mind off the pain. Thank you.

Dear fish15

Thank you for sharing your experience after attending the A&E department with your son. I am pleased to hear that he was treated promptly and that you felt the staff were lovely. It is good to hear that the toys took helped your son whilst he was in pain. Staff have recently spent some time trying to ensure that suitable toys are available. They will be pleased to hear that your son benefited from them.

Thank you again for your feedback which will be shared with staff.

I hope your son makes a speedy recovery

Kind regards

Lise
