Mental health nursing, what a pleasant surprise

I had heard many different tails regarding ty - sirhowy, most were not positive.

Having an interest in mental health nursing, I joined the local nurse bank as a nursing assistant and worked a few shifts at ty - sirhowy.

Driving to ty - sirhowy for my first shift I have to say the tails I had heard became fresh in my mind,.

However after my first couple of hours I soon understood that this was a safe haven for troubled people who were looked after by staff who really care and understand the needs of the patients there.

The misunderstanding the general public has (as I did myself) regarding this frankly quite remarkable place is regrettable when so many patients leave after recieving fantastic care and rehabilitation to lead positive and productive lives.

I have never worked in such a challenging yet rewarding environment and have never enjoyed a day of work (if you can call it work) so much in my life.

I wish all the patients and dedicated staff the best of luck when sadly ty -sirhowy closes and moves to the new ystrad mynach hospital.
