"Podiatrist appointment"

About: Shirley Oaks Hospital

Attended Shirly Oaks 04/01/17 for an appointment to discuss my ingrowing toenail that had been giving me trouble for about two weeks. After walking in and heading to reception and being told in an abrupt manner I was at the wrong desk I sat in the waiting area. Only had to wait 5-10 mins for my name to be called and followed the podiatrist into their office. They were neither warm, welcoming or particularly informative about my condition. I'd learnt the same information off the internet prior to my visit and was simply proscribed antibiotics, instead of what I had hoped minor - minor- attention to my toe. I left feeling disillusioned and no better about the visit. I received the bill today for £190. Disgusted. Although partly paid through insurance this is a wholly disappointing waste of money.

3 days following my appointmeant I attended a local high street podiatrist who took the same time to look at my toe, provide minor attention, and sort out the problem. All for £35. Sometimes going private does not mean better or more satisfying service. Would I recommend Shirley BMI to anyone ? No.
