"The care at Wilton Manor has been outstanding"

About: Wilton Manor

(as a relative),

My relative was transferred to Wilton Manor from another nursing home a few years ago. She was in a pitiful state due to her being neglected because her behaviour is challenging at times.

The care at Wilton Manor has been outstanding - first they gently nursed her back to health. They learnt how to deal with her anxiety and fear, which made her aggressive. They are not always successful and she can still pinch or scratch with the best of them!

The Activities Coordinator is excellent and still goes and has coffee and reads to her. Although she has been bed ridden for the past few years, she has no pressure sores despite her skin being paper thin.

The trained staff keep me well informed if there are any changes in her condition. The food she is served - in puree-form - is the same as the other residents. It smells delicious!

I have, until recently, been visiting very regularly and in that time I have never heard a member of staff raise their voice or speak sharply to any of the residents. Everyone has treated me - as her only visitor - with the greatest respect and I feel I can talk to them all with openness.

Sadly the Patient Care Manager resigned recently. She was an outstanding nurse and nothing was too much trouble for residents or their families.

I have nothing but praise for Wilton Manor. Of course there are minor niggles - e.g. as lost hairbrush or food on her chin - but if I mention it, the matter is dealt with.
