(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I am leaving hospital soon and I'm really looking forward to this. Hopefully where I am going will be better than St Andrews as there are too many rules here. I think all of these rules have slowed my progress, absolutely. Its more draconian on Speedwell and with St Andrews on the whole. They put too many obstacles in the way of me achieving and I have had to go to several tribunals before I can get reports to the MOJ. My 117 was after my tribunal and not before it, that doesn't make sense and now it's had to be deferred for my report. Anyway, I am glad that I am on my way to moving out and I wouldn't recommend St Andrews.

I am sorry that you feel this way and I think it is important we take this feedback and look at the ward to see if the rules need updating/changing. I would like to see all patients involved in the ward rules and discussions around this in your community meetings. I will discuss this with the nurse manager around whether a new process needs to take place.
