"Colonoscopy"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

The prospect of a colonoscopy is daunting, even if you know what it entails. The Endoscopy Unit staff were wonderful - reassuring, friendly, informal where appropriate and professional where appropriate. Nurse Endoscopist Jenny Berry and all their team were amazing and ... almost ... made the experience fun (although I don't want another one). The Nurse Endoscopist gave me so much reassurance and I was confident I was in good hands. I was very impressed. Recovery staff were great. Just a couple of words of advice to pre-endoscopy process - 1). don't need to be taken from endoscopy reception so early when there was an hour's wait to be seen; 2). should use disposable tourniquets when inserting cannula re infection control risk.
