"miss diagnosis"

About: Barnet Hospital Hertfordshire and the South Midlands Lister Hospital

(as the patient),

I suffer from fisures which came about after being constipated for a week following heart surgery back in jan 2016 I have tried for the past year explaining to the doctors and consultats the ammount of pain they are causing me one doctor presribed paracetomol which I find unbeliveable I am now waiting for surgery but the reason im writing this story is because of whats happened to me since last friday I went to my local GP as I belived I had an infection around the rectum on examination I was told no you have not its just a rash and was prescribed nappy rash ointment 24 hours later I was in worse pain so took more pain killers fast forward 12 hours and I took myself to AE arrived at 7am and left at 1530 pm in that time I was seen by a doctor and two surgeons who agreed amongst them selves there was no infection and sent me home with numbing gel by sunday eve the pain was going off the scale I made it to monday morning went and saw another GP who said yes its an abcess take these antibiotics and if no better in 48 hours go to AE 6 hours later I was taken by my daughter to local AE but the wait was 5 hours plus so she took me to her local AE 35 miles away 12 hours later I had surgery which has left a 2 inch hole that is going to need packing for 2 months according to the surgeon due to type 2 diabeties im sure some of you will agree this could possibly have been avoided with the proper diagnosis 4 days prior at least im now in severe pain at home as I could not get any proper pain relief ie morphine to take home with me I am cosidering making a complaint about my treatment
