"South West London & St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust"

About: Community mental health services / Recovery College

(as the patient),

I attended the Recovery College course yesterday morning "Introduction to Recovery. " I met new friends, laughed and smiled, learnt a lot and I am not taking up opportunities to get involved in the community which I was given in this course. One is hopefully joining a wellbeing driven swimming club and the other to enquire into volunteering at the Wildlife Animal Foundation in Leatherhead. I also heard about the work Hestia do and I plan to look into that too. I was shown by the trainers that there is hope and recovery is possible.

Dear plum243,

My name is Claire Reid and I am the Senior Patient Experience Co-ordinator for the Trust. Many thanks for posting about your experience with the Recovery College.

I am pleased to read that the course you attended (introduction to Recovery) was beneficial to you. It is excellent to hear that you feel able to take up the opportunities to get involved in the community and am please to read you have ideas of what to do already.

I will pass your comments onto the service so they can read their positive effect on attendees to the courses they provide.

I wish you all the best in your continued recovery.

Best Wishes

Claire
