"Poor communication"

About: Eastwood Children's Centre

(as a service user),

I registered my interest in being a peer supporter, but due to lack of communication it meant I missed out on the last course, this is now put me off wanting to attend any courses that the children centre organise in the future.

From my previous roles working with volunteers and regular communication was key to increasing volunteers and developing their self esteem the experience I have received so far has been very poor.

Thank you for letting us know about your recent experience and I would like to offer my apologies for the poor service you received.

I have shared your experience with the team and we will review the way we plan and deliver future training events to do what we can to avoid similar situations happening in the future. We will be in touch shortly to update you.

The staff in our Children's Centres always work hard to support self-esteem and confidence building for volunteers and your comments will help us to improve our service.

Hi Nottsmum,

I have an update in relation to the way we now manage our training events.

We have reveiwed our service and we now have a dedicated member of staff in place to liaise with people who want to complete our courses. This now enables us to provide direct communication with any prospective participants and minimise any missed communication between both parties.
