"Nothing"

About: Lister Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Nothing

What could be improved

Doctors/nurses to think twice before giving the pain killers/any medication to the patients in their helpless situations.

Anything else?

I was at the Lister Hospital as I had a severe abdominal pain. I took some strong medication at home before going to the A&E, and told the nurses the same. Even then, they gave me more and more of strong pain killers without even thinking about the dosage. This made me feel heavily dizzy and I was hardly able to sit and stand for the next couple of days. This is highly unacceptable.

You are clearly unhappy with your care while in the Lister's A&E recently, about which we are sorry. Should you wish to have the matter investigated formally then we would be happy to put you in touch with our complaints team - just e-mail us on generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net.

We would like to state, however, that our emergency doctors and nurses are fully aware of both the benefits and risks of providing their patients with painkillers. This is a responsibility they take with great seriousness and such decisions will always be clinically based.
