Parking at Royal Derby is now so ridiculous that they suggest you turn up a full hour before your appointment in order to find a space. They're not kidding either, I've regularly orbited the whole hospital looking for a space. It's not always practical to park and ride-in, especially if you're taking a small child.
In addition to this delay, I was kept waiting for a full hour by the doctor, who then took one look at my baby, wiggled her legs a little then asked to see us again in 6 months. What a cop-out! It felt like he just trying to get rid of us as quickly as possible.
Nobody came to talk to us during the time we were waiting. Nobody advised us of any delay or have any indication of how long we would be expected to wait, until I approached one of the nurses and explained that if I couldn't be seen shortly, I would have to leave to make it back in time for my baby's tea.
Waiting 2 hours in a hospital reception is tough on an adult's patience, never mind a 10 month old baby.
They need a significantly large multi-story car-park and they need it yesterday!
"Kept waiting for two hours with my baby."
