I gave birth almost a year ago at AMH and am still in awe of the amazing work the staff there do.
In the early weeks of my pregnancy I attended Rubislaw ward for some early scans, where the lovely ladies I met provided me with so much reassurance at a worrying time.
At 36 week, my baby decided it was time to make an entrance, which resulted in spending 9 days on the Summerfield Ward. Being my first baby, and an early one at that -I was feeling scared, clueless and exhausted, while having to spend that time in a somewhat confined space. As difficult as the circumstances felt, the staff on the ward made it all so much easier to deal with. The amount of care every person we dealt with showed us was just amazing, going far above "just doing their job". From helping to get our baby latching on, sharing our excitement at each small development, and being a shoulder to cry on at 3 o'clock in the morning (to name but a few), we was never made to feel like they were too busy to help, or that our needs were less important than others (when I'm sure at times they probably were).
I will be forever grateful to all the lovely ladies I came across during my time at AMH.
I'm not the greatest at remembering names, and there were certainly far too many for me to try, but Jamie, Chelsea and Rachael were absolutely unforgettable and are owed so much thanks for their time and caring natures.
