I was referred by my doctor for investigation into the problems I was experiencing with my bowels. Within a week I had received an appointment for an initial investigation at The Linicear center by Mr S Loganathan.
As this was the first time I have ever had to have anything like this before I was quite apprehensive but I must say that from the moment the examination began the treatment I received by the lovely nurse in attendance and by Mr Loganathan was exemplary at all times, my privacy was respected and the nurse sought to reassure me at each point. She informed me that I would get a further appointment for a Colonoscopy over the coming two weeks.
Even though it was the week before Christmas I got an appointment for the end of December at the endoscopy department at The Royal Albert Infirmary.
My appointment was for 9am and I was called through at 08:50, from then on I can only say that the way I was looked after by each and every one of team in the Colonosopy deptartment was first class! I cannot thank them enough for their caring and thoroughly professional way they went about their duties.
The two staff Nurses in attendance during the procedure were exceptional in the way they assured me and helped me and again doing their utmost in respecting my privacy. The Surgeon Dr DSouza executed the procedure with great skill and care.
My apologies for not remembering all the names of the team that looked afer me but I can only say that the treatment I received was replicated to all the other patients on the ward whilst I was there.
To say that I was impressed by the professionalism of each and everyone is an understatement! They are a credit to their profession and to Wigan and Leigh Infirmary.
