My mother was admitted to a 'rehab' ward at 1.00.pm, on a Saturday needing pain management. At 6.00pm, no pain relief had been administered. This was due to a doctor writing a dosage of a painkiller that simply didn't exist.
I was told that there wouldn't be another doctor available to re prescribe until Monday morning. As a result my mother was left in great pain. After I seriously complained the prescription was taken downstairs to be corrected.
While my mother was being nursed the nurses spoke to each other in their own language, ( unacceptable and bad practice.) My mother was given misleading information about her right to intermediate care. She entered the hospital an independent woman in need of pain management. She left, 3 weeks later with a bed sore which is indicative of inadequate care .
She was discharged with a totally inadequate care plan.
"not good enough"
