"Blood tests"

I have a monthly blood test as I have multiple myeloma which is an incurable cancer.

I was attending my gp surgery monthly for the tests and it worked well. I have these before a monthly infusion at arrow park. On my last test I was told I would have to attend St Catherine's for this test in future. I was sad about this but understood. Today, full of a cold, I attended St Catherine's for the blood test only to be told by a rather unhelpful receptionist that as I had a hospital form I could not have it done there.

The place was empty and this was at 8.40am.

I tried explaining that I was told I could have it done there by a phlebotomist. They again reiterated as I had a hospital form I'd have to attend arrow park. The hospital is a considerable distance away for me.

I was most disappointed as this now means that being seriously ill I have to travel miles and incur additional costs for a service that I rely upon to help keep me well.

I am lucky that I have a carer that can drive me there but there will be lots of people who don't have this luxury and at a time when we battle every day this is making life awkward for us all.

When I arrived at arrow park they luckily fit me in but said St Catherine's should have done it for me.

One of the phlebotomists rang their superior to find out NBA happened to me and was told that the arrangements had been changed again from what was set up on 01.12.16, less than a month after it had started,

This situation now will cause me and others great distress and hardship to get to arrow park.

Please please reinstate local facilities to get these tests done please!
