"Request to contact manager/correspondence ignored"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary / Infectious and Tropical Medicine

I left feedback/a complaint on here on 20th Feb 2016.

On 29th Feb 2016 I received a reply from the RVI apologising and requesting I contact the Directorate Manager so they could look into the matter further.

I did not feel well enough to speak with someone over the phone so I spent considerable time in putting the details into a letter with some supporting information. I received no response. In March 2016 I contacted the PALS service at the RVI to check if my letter had been received. The PALS service emailed me to say my letter had been received and that I would receive a reply by the end of March 2016. It is now 28th December 2016 and I have not received so much had a letter acknowledging receipt of my letter. It is pretty pointless in requesting patients contact Directorate Management if that correspondence is to be completely ignored. As other feedback on here about this department also touches on, if you are very unwell please put your energies into looking after yourself and in getting the support, answers and healthcare from other professionals. We know our bodies better than most and we know when something is very wrong, as I did, yet I was essentially told my problems were all psychological by this department which they most definitely were not and are not. I have since received a diagnosis of heart and vascular problems that are very debilitating and not in any way related to anything psychological. Luckily I continued to press for further tests as I felt so unwell and was getting increasingly worse including blacking out. As I put in my previous review, other people having been treated the way I was on my visit may well have stopped seeking medical attention which is deeply concerning.
