"Poor meeting"

About: Avenue House

(as a carer),

A shambles of a meeting this morning which in my experience, is quite usual. I arrived with my son in time for a meeting. 15 minutes after the meeting was due, we went into the meeting and were told that the meeting was running late, as 2 staff were discussing the 'case'. Preparation for a meeting should be done before a meeting. It is not rocket science. I don't like being kept waiting for a reason like this. Basically I felt we were treated like 2 dogs standing outside a supermarket. What a disgrace. I would be happy if my son's care was dealt with by our GPs as they are professional and seem to care. They also try to run on time and do their preparation in an appropriate way.

I am sorry that you felt you were kept waiting for a meeting and you are correct, preparation for a meeting should occur prior to the meeting to prevent attendees being kept waiting. Could you tell me a little more about what meeting to help me look into this futher?

I am sorry that you feel that that you were not treated with respect, I assure you that I expect all clients to be treated with dignity and respect.

If you wish for your son's care to be transferred back to his GP maybe you can discuss this with his Consultant. I am sorry for you waiting but at times this is unavoidable - we do however try to ensure that clients and their carers are seen in a timely manner.
