"Very anxious pregnancy"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

Having previously lost a child at 14months I was very nervous throughout my pregnancy and developed anxiety. Starting with my community midwife who had been my midwife with both previous pregnancies and this. Although it was 9 years since my last pregnancy they remembered me and my history, even the smallest details. They were there for me every step to offer support and advice and am eternally grateful as I wouldn't have coped as well as I have without them. The midwives in CDS were also amazingly supportive and very knowledgable. A hard job to do but I was able to put 100% trust in them. After a long induction process I gave birth naturally to a healthy baby boy. The midwife had a fantastic bedside manner and easily put me at ease, even having a giggle throughout the pain. My delivery midwife well, what a person. I was lucky enough to have them take over my care for the 2 nights I was on CDS. It's evident how much experience and knowledge they have and had read my history and made me feel like an individual as opposed to just another labouring mum. Every step of the way I felt reassured and safe in the are of the maternity services at DRI. An excellent team, who get very little positive recognition. I'd like to nominate them all individually for an award.
