Firstly I'd like to say there are some good staff here, but unfortunately some seemed to think they knew better than my surgeon, which made my stay here rather unpleasant. One nurse made me have the bed in a position higher than the 30 degrees that was advised by the surgeon, which gave me more pain than I needed. Same nurse removed quilt from the bed & stuffed it in the cupboard, failing to return it when I was told I had to stay in another night. One even moaned about helping me get my trousers over my feet,so I could dress myself. Forms for medication weren't always filled in correctly,so at least once,I was left over 6 hours without pain relief. Communication between nursing staff was almost nonexistent,at times. Discharged without seeing physio, even though the night before I was told I couldn't leave without their consent. Only given painkillers & antisickness pills to go home with, even though I'd also been on some antiinflammatories & laxative during my stay. Overall a very disappointing experience, mainly caused by nurses who have no bedside manner or concern for patients. I would neither recommend or return to this hospital, since these nurses seemed to be running things. Its a shame that just a few bad staff members can ruin a review for the good ones, but after experiencing a lack of care first hand I can't leave a good review as it wouldn't be honest,or fair to future patients.
"Glad I wasn't paying!"
