"Everyone can get involved together"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare Birmingham / Moor Green

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The Christmas party is great. I like it because it is everybody together. I think we should have more inter-ward activities. You do it at Christmas and in the summer, so you could do something perhaps every 2 months. For example you could do something in the sports hall, such as have a pool table, or have film nights. have things available so everyone can get involved together. It is much better.

Thank you for adding your story to Patient Opinion. I am really pleased that you enjoyed the Christmas Party and the Summer party, I agree with you that it was a great afternoon especially seeing all wards mixing together.

We will certainly take your points on board in relation to doing something every 2 months and your suggestions about events in the sports hall such as a pool table or having film nights will certainly be taken into consideration.

We are currently looking into employing an Events Coordinator for the Birmingham Site who will be able to arrange just this type of activity, this is something that has already happened in Northampton and has gone very well with great feedback from the patients and staff alike.

Thanks again for your comments and I hope that you can get involved once the Events Coordinator is in post and maybe even add another post in the future.

I have been pleased to observe, many more interactive and inter ward activities are now happening on the Birmingham site. The Activities Coordinators and Event Coordinator are all working hard to provide a variety of activities which are being very well received by the patients. Very well done all.
