"They seem not to care"

About: Colchester General Hospital / Maternity

(as a relative),

My sister is 39 weeks pregnant. For 3 days she has barely eaten, has a severe sore tummy, reduced baby movements and is sicking up blood. 2 calls made to triage and both times told to go to A&E, walk in centre or doctor (Last time she colapsed she spent 4 hours waiting in A&E).

I myself recently had a baby in barnet hospital London and triage always saw me when I had pregnancy issues (never set foot in A&E) I understand staff shortages as this is a problem thoughout the whole UK, however, they seem not to care. Midwives have not even discussed her birthing options. I have recently moved back to Colchester after spending 4 years in London and I will drive and go to another hospital rather than have my baby here. I feel like the service is appaling

I am so sorry to read about your experience. Please contact one of our complaint coordinators on 01206 742881 who would be more than happy to look into the concerns that have been raised.

We are committed as a hospital to ensure that every patient is treated with respect and dignity. I am terribly sorry to read that this did not happen.

Kind regards
