"The Centre for Integrative Care"

About: Centre for Integrative Care (formerly Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital)

(as the patient),

I was So very fortunate in 2015 to be referred to The Centre for Integrative care by a new consultant I was seeing, after Battling through 4 years suffering from chronic pain conditions and Becoming Disabled, I was Passed around the pain services from physio to psychology and Everything in between 3 Times in two different hospitals, I was Worn down and had Completely given up hope of anyone Ever helping me or Even worse understanding 'Life in our kind of body'.

Today I am a Completely Different person, mentally, I Know exactly what my capabilities are, and Most importantly that It is Real and Yes I do understand it can't be Fixed But the endless comments from doctors saying 'I'm sorry I don't have a Magic Wand' were completely unhelpful! Physically I'm Not going to get Better But I understand and accept the journey I'm on and I take Great calmness from the staff at CIC who are on my journey Supporting Through all the Way, I have Horrendous flare ups and During these times my consultant is able to bring me into the centre for the week and where it used to take me 3 months to recover it takes alot less now with the Massive input n time the inpatient facility staff spend with me during the inpatient programme, I am able to regain control and am helped to Minimise symptoms as Best as they can. Unfortunately there will never be an answer to Stopping major flare ups But I found my answer to minimising how long they last and Regaining A Better quality of life for longer periods of time with the ongoing support. If the Propsal to close that ward down is goes ahead I know for sure myself, it Would be a Major disaster. Seeing me back being housebound, unable to establish any quality of life again,

I for one have a Very Young family and They Did Not have a Mum until last year when the CIC started treating me. I know first hand that is the case for Many others that also attend the CIC as inpatients, it Is Absolutely Crucial in the healing process.

The process has not been handled correctly in my opinion taking actual patients and all situations concerning the use of the CIC inpatients facility into consideration at all. Very Very Dissapointed and absolutely Devestated that I feel that my life and that of my Entire family is about to be destroyed if closure goes ahead.
