"I thought the staff on ward 15 ..."

What I liked

I thought the staff on ward 15 were absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much bother for them and they always made sure they kept our spirits up, even when telling me I had to stay in for another night they made me feel comfortable and supported me through my whole stay.

What could be improved

I think its a shame that all wards have to take the overflow from other wards as it means the nurses cant concentrate on the main focus of the ward they work on. I was on the plastics ward but we had a lady with chest problems and an elderly lady that took up quite a bit of the nurses time instead of them just being able to concentrate on plastics. I dont think this could be improved really though as everyone reacts differently to treatment so you can never tell how long people will be staying in hospitals and the amount of traumas that come in just cant be helped. I think they do the best that they can with what they have though and they always have your needs covered.

Anything else?

The support I've had from my surgeon, the nurses in the dressings clinic and the staff on Ward 15 are second to none, I dont think I have ever been in a hospital so caring and helpful and I dont think I will ever find one quite as good as the University Hospital of North Durham!
