"Cause for concern at Tollgate Walk In"

I went to the NHS Walk In Centre at Stamford Hill (Tollgate) since I'd had a bad sore throat for 5 days, which was getting worse. I am not the type of person to visit a doctor unless I really need to - I probably visit my GP once a year if that.

I was seen quickly before 9am by a doctor but in my opinion the consultation was less than satisfactory. I felt that the doctor was confrontational and didn't take a proper history. Whilst I would have been happy to accept their diagnosis of a viral sore throat they insisted that I wanted antibiotics, even though I told them that I was happy to accept their professional opinion. After this argument, they did decide to prescibe antibiotics but they didn't ask whether I was allergic to penicillin (they gave me amoxycillin) or whether I was on the contraceptive pill. In my opinion both of these things are vital information to patient care and could have put my health at risk.

Since the consultation I have called in to find out the name of the doctor. Since it was a walk in, they don't have a proper record of it, but the receptionist suggested who it might be.
