"Needs better organisation"

About: Derriford Hospital / Neurology

I went in for a suspected stroke, the staff treated me with uttermost respect and some went beyond their duties. At times I was sisrespectful if not rude to the staff, but always apologised and the staff were always so understanding. I was let down towards the end of my stay and shall be tating matters further, but this is not a slur on the staff as they were the kindest, most understandinding people I have met and will always be greatful for their help.

Dear Mr Richards,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us.

It is really good news that you received good treatment from the staff and you were treated with respect.

I am sorry that you felt let down towards the end of your stay and as the patient opinion website is anonymous please would you be kind enough to email to plh-r.PALS@nhs.net with some further information so we may investigate your concerns further.

With best wishes

Claire Jukes

You can find out if there is a service in your area from our website www.stroke.org.uk/finding-support

We were sorry to hear of your suspected stroke and that you feel you did not receive good care towards the end of your stay. It sounds as though the hospital is willing to look into your concerns.

Finally, you can also find lots of information about stroke on our website at www.stroke.org.uk. You can read about our services and download all of our publications free of charge. There is news about our campaigns to improve services for stroke survivors, national and local events and our research programmes. You can also join TalkStroke, our online forum where you can meet other people affected by stroke and share your experiences.

I hope that this is helpful and that you are now getting the support that you need to make the best recovery possible.
