I has been six weeks since my husband died in Leighton hospital. He was a diabetic and he fell ill at home on the Sunday - he couldn't get out of the bath and we called an ambulance, who were very kind and brought him to the hospital. We had trouble getting him a bed when we got there, but they admitted him in the end.
The staff were so kind and kept us informed at all times, they told us he had pneumonia. After a few days his condition rapidly deteriorated and a nurse called me at 5am to tell me I needed to come into the hospital. I had time to get all my family to the hospital and spend the day with my husband. He died at 10pm.
I can't remember the nurse's name who rang me, but she was so kind and caring - she was a wonderful help and support to us all. Nothing was too much trouble for her or any of the other nurses - they should treble their wages. Thank you all for the kindness and support at this terrible time.
"Nurses kindness helped us all during the tragedy of losing my husband"
