"Ward 5"

About: Fairfield General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

Ward 5

What could be improved

The staff on another ward are the most uncaring I have ever met. On 3 occasions arriving to visit my mother-in-law at 3pm she has been sitting in a pool of urine. Last week she was also sitting in faeces. The staff don't notice. This is even when they won't allow us to arrive before 3 because they are apparently 'toiletting'.

Anything else?

Usually when my wife comes away from the other ward she is so upset by the condition in which the staff keep her mother she is in tears. Dignity is not a word they understand.

The Trust is very concerned that this treatment has been experienced at one of our hospitals; please accept our sincere apologies for the distress it must have caused.

We are very keen to address any concerns raised and you do not identify the ward concerned. If you would contact the PALS service on 0161 778 2455 to let us have more information regarding this experience, your concerns will be investigated further by the Trust.

Thank you for your positive comment regarding Ward 5, it will be passed on to the ward staff.
