"People live better and understand their condition better"

About: Centre for Integrative Care (formerly Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital)

(as the patient),

I have been lucky enough to have been admitted twice to this centre, and I have to say I wish I had found out about it years ago, This facility has helped me no end, I have fibromyalgia and have had a small stroke, so pain for me is daily, it just varies in how much pain, I don't ever go below 6 out of 10 but I manage.

On both occasions the staff have been so nice and helpful, answering questions, taking therapy classes, helping not just with pain management but with breathing, sleep, the list is endless.

If this facility is taken away then all the people who are out their managing their pain alone will never get to experience the care and help that can be receive at the CIC Glasgow. The out-patient department is not the only department that is needed here, the 7 bed facility Mon - Fri is also required to help people live better and understand their condition better.

Nurses and Doctors who work there can help along that path, and help give you better understanding, this cannot be achieved at an out-patient appointment once every 6 -12 weeks. For some the very fact that you get the chance to relax your body and mind can help along the road to understanding.

Art classes, breathing and lifestyle classes, bone healing, acupuncture, A jetted bath, staff on hand 24/7 to answer any questions.

How can we do without this place. It is really important to me and I'm sure many many others that this centre stay open to bed patients.
