My elderly old Mother visited QEQM for an outpatients appointment having travelled by bus. She got off the bus at Ramsgate Road and made her way to outpatients ( St Peters Road ). Having finished her appointment she proceeded out of the nearest exit to catch the bus and this is when her trouble started. My mum had exited the wrong side of the Hospital and became extremely distressed. After wondering around for what seemed like an hour she became quite breathless and extremely upset. A young lady with blonde hair approached her in the car park and took her back inside. She calmed my mother down, reassured her. She went out of her way to go and fetch a wheelchair. Got her a drink of water and a tissue. She then took my Mother in the wheelchair to the bus stop at Ramsgate Road. She ensured that my mother was ok before leaving her.
I just want to personally thank this member of staff who couldn't have done more for my mother at what was an extremely distressing time to her. My mother couldn't remember her name but thought she was one of the Head Porters.
Please pass on my heartfelt appreciation.
"heartfelt appreciation"
