"Great staff on ward 4a but upset by doctor on 4b"

About: Whiston Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was recently treated on this ward for abdominal pains. I wanted to thank all the staff who took great care of me, and the consultant I was under for my first admission.

However, I had to go in again with more pain, this time I was kept on 4B and though the staff were ok, I was told the pain was in my head by a doctor who I felt pushed and pushed me to more tears even though it was clear I was already upset due to agonising pain. I left the second time from 4B feeling so let down, ignored and like I'd been fobbed off.

This was only mentioned (about the pain being in my head) when the doctor found out I suffer from mental health problems. Despite the fact that fluid was found behind my bladder and there was another problem they found.

If I have to go back to hospital I certainly would try not to go back to Whiston after this one experience with one doctor
