"Well done, NHS Fife!"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I should have mentioned this in my very recent post. I received a letter from the bowel screening unit in Dundee, telling me that blood had been detected in one of my samples and that I would have to have a colonoscopy. I visited Victoria Hospital for a very full and well presented briefing, and I was told that I would have my colonoscopy - which I did. Sixteen days from the original notification to the colonoscopy is in my view quite remarkable, and not at all what I expected. Well done, NHS Fife!

Dear Gentleman of Leisure,

It must have been concerning to receive the letter from the Bowel Screening Service. Helena, is our specialist nurse who runs the service in NHS Fife and she works hard to make sure that our patients, who have a positive bowel screening test, are attended to quickly.

I will gladly share your kind comments with her now.

Thanks again

Gill
