I was at Monklands for an operation to have a bone anchored hearing aid fitted. I had orginally planned to have this under general anaesthetic however due to having a cold and the risks of general, I was consulted on having the operation under local instead. This was very daunting for me and I was in quite a high state of anxiety however agreed to go through with it.
My surgeon was fantastic with me and I would like to say a massive thank you to the anaesthetist and recovery staff on that day. I honestly couldn't have done it without them. They were calming, patient, understanding and so kind to me. They sat with me to try to relax me throughout the whole procedure and I wanted to express how much I appreciated this and what a difference it made to my experience. Each one of them was wonderful and I can't thank them enough! I hope these comments get back to them.
