I've had three births at City Hospital (2010, 2012 &2016) and each time the care has been fantastic. Our second baby (2012) ended up unexpectedly in the Neonatal unit for a couple of weeks- the care he received was brilliant, from everyone. They cared for him, but also were there to support and reassure parents. The consultant Lleona Lee that looked after him was brilliant.
After spending 9 months determined to have a natural birth after 2 sections, absolutely petrified and upset at the thought of a repeat section I was admitted to City Hospital Labour ward with heavy bleeding, resulting in a section.
From the moment we stepped on the ward the care we received was the best. From the midwifes and doctors. Nothing was to much trouble. The c section was made as "nice" as possible, my wishes listened to. I can look back on the birth and smile, even though it was not what id planned!
The lovely Midwife Mary Brown was brilliant, even staying after her shift had finished to see our baby girl born. Midwife Kirsten who took over was lovely. And student Doctor Barnes who came with me, and stayed until transfer to the ward, which she didn't have to do. Your all amazing.
Thank you for making it a positive experience.
