"Really poor service"

About: Charing Cross Hospital

(as the patient),

I received my new gender recognition in 2014 after transitioning since 2006 through a private financial route, went to my GP to be referred to the Gender Identity Clinic for advice and support for my final operation choices.

Waited 12 months after referral for an appointment. Received a letter stating I had missed my appointment and had to go back to my GP for a written letter for another referral - but never received notification of an appointment at the clinic in the first place. Very disappointing and upsetting.

Have telephoned the clinic twice, no body answers the telephone so I have left a message, no body has called back since leaving a message this afternoon.

Really poor service.

Dear Deano Dan

We are very sorry to hear that you have been unable to get through on the telephone to the GIC and would encourage you to try again.

We recognise that having been discharged back to your GP for a re-referral is both 'disappointing and upsetting', we will have sent both communications to the address that we held on our Patient Administration System, which - unless we were advised otherwise - would have been the same for both items of correspondence.

Please do contact us ASAP so that we may get your process restarted as soon as possible for you.

Regards

Lee Wroth

Service Manager
