I took my 8 year old boy to A&E and he is not very keen on attending hospitals, we arrived, got him booked in and took a seat. The only issue we experienced was that the staff at reception couldn't seem to be bothered giving us her full attention but giving the department was extremely busy she was maybe trying to juggle multiple patients. After this the staff called him through to triage and the triage nurse was incredible, he answered all the patients questions thoroughly and explained everything to him which he needs and also made a pinky promise with the patient to reassure him.
Once he was called in to see the doctor (Daniel) he was assessed with great patience as he was very anxious but Daniel took a great deal of time to reassure him even though the department was extremely busy the time was appreciated. He had to get some inventions done and the support worker Mari had the same approach and reassured him and took time with him to get the investigations done. The care, time and attention he was given was incredible and really appreciated in such a stressful environment with the number of patients waiting to be seen.
What I really wanted to feedback was that he told me afterwards "Hospitals aren't that bad and they look after you but Daniel is a great doctor and made me feel better".
Great work and thanks again for the wonderful work to do and for such a positive impact on his outlook to hospitals.
"Fantastic patience even when busy"
