What I liked
i have been attending salford royal since 2000 for dermatology appointments where i have had the same consultant. My consultant is very nice and very knowledgeable aand i have no problems with either himself or his team or the nurses. when i was homeless last year and was turned away from gp surgeries, i rang him up and got repeat prescriptions of my medication. i am quite knowledgeable myself therefore not treated like an idiot and i am involved in all of my care. if i have urgent problems regarding my blood results i ring up my specialist nurse and get a prompt reply. i wont go anywhere else for my dermatology and when i moved back to manchester the first thing i said to my gp was i wanted to be referred back on to this consultant's caseload which i am very happy about. when i have problems with my gp regarding medication, my consultant fends for me. he tells me he is due to retire and i have told him i don't want him to as he is the best.
What could be improved
waiting times, if the consultant says ill see you in 3 months, as it's a busy dept i often won't get seen for 4 months. also my consultants secretary is a waste of space as she always has her phone on answerphone and i have told my consultant about this.
Anything else?
no i am generally happy with my patient care at salford royal and have said to my friends that salford royal is the better hospital in the area
"i have been attending salford ..."
