About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My dad got admitted to Inverclyde hosp. He has a fracture in his shoulder. Since then, they have done tests and he has lung cancer and bone cancer. We were told by a respiratory doctor that he will see an oncology specalist the following thurs. He then stated it might be the following thurs, as he only works one day a week

He still has a broken shoulder and is in excrutiating pain we were told this is a very complex case. Is this normal?

Hello there

Thanks for posting your comments here and allowing us the chance to get things made clearer for you. Im sorry to hear that your dad is in such pain with his shoulder and would be keen to try to hep as best I can.

Would you feel able to call my office on 01413146928 or email on jacki.smart@ggc.scot.nhs.uk and let me have some more detail in order that im able to secure the most appropriate help or redirect you to the right place? keen to help.

You'll be aware that your GP is also there to offer advice and help to your dad should he need it regarding his pain and a call to the practice now may be a helpful first step. They will also be able to describe what to do should things get worse for him.

Hopefully speak soon

Jacki
