I have been attending Rotherham Hospital for the last 2 years and on every ward I have been on, I have found it absolutely perfect. All the staff (doctors, nurses and ambulance crew) were great. They were polite, funny and made me feel at ease. They called you flower, chick and love and it really did make all the difference.
The only thing I was not so keen on was the food but I cannot think of anything else that could be improved. The staff were busy but didn’t forget things. If you asked for something they would remember. I wasn’t scared at all whilst I was on the ward not like how I felt 20 years ago! Things are much better now.
I would like to say a special thank you to Danny Tunnard. He was a auxiliary nurse on the ward who knew my son. I was having an epidural and everything was all set up but I needed to go to the toilet. He came in and introduced himself, I was embarrassed as he knew my son but he never batted an eye lid.
He took me to the toilet and out me right at ease. He said his brother was in the navy and all his family wee very proud of him and I thought, ‘yes, they will be very proud of you as well!’
