"The Dr's and theatre staff ..."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The Dr's and theatre staff for gynaecology were FANTASTIC!! they kept me informed, they made me feel safe and secure in my decision to have surgery. The theatre staff were polite, courteous, caring and very mindful that I needed re-assurance as they put me under for surgery. I did not experience any pain, even had to do a double check to make sure I had been operated on.

What could be improved

I think the ward staff could be cross trained better. The breast care nurses seemed a bit fearful of dealing with gynaecological issues. They did not seem to take time to chat with you to check you were ok. The other patients did the caring and called for help and advised if they could. So nurses you need to show your faces more, I know your busy, but often I would pace the unit and not see anyone!

Anything else?

Food is not brilliant, I would rather pay to have better standard of food, so that the real money can be spent on medical care.
