What I liked

Department was very busy and had a long wait to see the doctor but in fairness how can you judge how long a patient will take before you, and as the nurse pointed out I would have an even longer waiting time to start with if they spread the appointment slots out to allow more time for each patient, when this may not be even needed. Nice that when I got seen the doctor gave me as much time as I needed to answer my questions so I left feeling happy with my consultation. I will remember to bring a book with me next time for my follow up appointment in case of a long wait again, mind you no different to my GP. The area was clean and tidy and they doctor seemed to understand my concerns, the nurse was supportive and answered some questions I did not quite understand. Very pleased overall with the speed of the service from GP to hospital and would recommend this as a maternity hospital.

What could be improved

Appointment times were a long wait but as previous comments you cant judge how long a patient will be so its unrealistic to expect to be seen on time, (even in private sector) maybe they should put on appointments letters that the time is approximate and that you may have to wait longer. More doctors and nurses less managers would help.

Anything else?

Overall I think Bedford hospital is a nice clean local hospital, been to other big hospitals like whipps cross, and the care has not been as good. We have a good local hospital which needs to be supported and although the waiting to see the doctor was very long I still got to see him. we dont know how lucky we are sometimes.
