"Parking problems at Basildon Hospital"

About: Basildon University Hospital

(as the patient),

I had to take my daughter in law with her two small children to the mental health unit. (This is a special organized visit because of the ward conditions).

They had only fifteen minutes for this visit - they hadn't seen their father for two weeks. We had to take them out of school fifteen minutes earlier as we didn't want to miss the special arrangement.

My complaint is that there was a big queue to get in the car park - only one barrier working. I then decided to drive them up to the unit, drop them off so I could park in the car park. There were several cars parked on double yellow lines opposite outpatients.

One car, a land rover (obviously someone with money but not enough to pay car park fees) was actually parked (no one in car) on the zebra crossing. Because of these people illegally parked it was causing a problem to other cars.

I asked the reception in outpatients to ring security (not sure if they did). I would have found security myself but because of arranged visit I didn't have time. These people should be told not to do this.

My worry is if my daughter in law had gone by herself she would have missed this important visit because of these ignorant people and security not doing their job properly.
