"A long wait in constant pain"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Leicester Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I had breathing difficulties which was serious and I was taken by ambulance to emergency area. The medics on the ambulance we great and treated me to ease my breathing. We arriving at 2. 00 am and had to wait until 8. 30 am before I was seen to by a doctor. I am disabled in constant pain. There was a mix up with my chest x-ray where I waited for one more hour. After 7 hours+ being in pain with my disability and a sleepless night. I came home a very bad experience.

Patient care, I don't think so.

Dear Longwait539,

Thank you for your comments about the care and response you received from East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS).

I am pleased to read that our ambulance colleagues were 'great' and treated you to ease your breathing.

We note you are now back at home and wish you a good recovery.

Each week we publish an e-magazine update for our EMAS colleagues and always include a sample of some of the compliments received. I will include the relevant extract of your note - your kind words about our ambulance crew will be appreciated.

Kind regards

Melanie Wright, Deputy Director of Communications and Engagement
