"Unclean hospital facilities"

About: Rotherham Hospital

(as the patient),

I went into Rotherham District General Hospital for the removal of my gall bladder. Whilst there I was on ward B5. The pre-assessment team were fantastic.

My complaint was that the cubicle was very dirty. The fan was filthy. I was brought in a bowl to wash myself and left stranded with no help, no towel, no toiletries were passed to me.

I then had to wait after the operation an unacceptable time for my take home drugs. After waiting three hours I decided to leave.

I would like to thank Aysha/all of the team at pre-assessment unit. Mr Lambertz was fantastic.

Thank you for posting your comments on the site.

We are pleased that the Pre Assessment part of your care was good but are concerned about the comments you make regarding the care you received whilst on the ward. It would really help the Trust to improve the services we offer to patients if you could contact the Trust in order to discuss your concerns in more detail. Please call the Service Improvement Team on 01709 307 528.
