"The help i have received"

About: Bassetlaw Hospital / Maternity care Hallcroft Children's Centre Retford Central Children's Centre

(as the patient),

At first, my baby girl was very unsettled and had multiple things wrong with her. These included being tongue tied, so couldnt feed properly which lead to her never being satisfied after feeding (breast feeding). she had bad colic and acid reflux which lead to her not sleeping properly; when she was awake she was crying. We were getting no sleep as we had to sit up with her in order to keep her acid down. we had her tongue snipped when she was 3 weeks old and after several visits to the doctors they eventually prescribed her with infant gaviscon and renitadine.

we also but her on formula at 5 weeks old as I had many problems myself with breastfeeding and she slept alot better. the support I had from the breastfeeding ladies was amazing, I couldnt have done it without them. I always wanted to do the baby massage with my baby girl but I darent go to the class because she was so unsettled so the health visitor (who was amazing) referred the baby massage to take place in my own home which I was so grateful for. The massage really helped to settle my little girl (especially the tummy massage because of her colic). I also enjoyed doing the massage as it was really good for bonding. I have had no end of help and support from retford childrens center as I am a young mum and find it hard to mingle with other people anyway but now I am confident and enjoy going to groups with my baby girl to meet other mums and other children. I cannot thank them enough.
