I had my surgery on 31 October 2016. Gastric sleeve. I should have had the gastric bypass, but this wasn't possible due to internal scar tissue. Now I should at this point also disclose that I am a nurse and that I am employed by UCLH. So you might think that I'm biased. Actually in my opinion it makes me there harshest critic! I would just just like to thank all the staff we looked after me pre and post surgery. The care I received has been outstanding. Second to none.
That's exactly why I joined the Trust. Thank you so much. Nurses, surgeons, doctors, consultants, anaesthetists, dieticians, healthcare assistants, theatre practitioners, porters, pharmacists. You're all absolutely fabulous. You are a credit to yourselves and your profession. And to UCLH. I'm home where I belong with my family. Recovering. So far, no complications. The rest is down to me. For all type 2 diabetics out there, please consider this an option. It's early days I know, but it could just be the lifeline you have been searching for. Once again thank you.
