"Out of hours help for mental health patients"

About: Go To Doc Primary Care Limited North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public. We have their details and will forward any comments to them. They said…

Two weeks ago my mental health was at a bad stage – anxiety high, etc. causing blood pressure to rise and really bad headache. Rang the GP surgery (King Street Medical Centre). The surgery was closed but the recorded message said ring 111.

I rang 111 – they took all the details and made me an appointment at the walk-in centre in Ashton. I attended and was told that they do not see people about mental health problems, but they did take my blood pressure and sent the details to the GP.

Worked with CPN and increased mental health medication. Blood pressure is down and headache gone.
