"the nurses and doctors"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

the nurses and doctors

What could be improved

waiting time .... communication

7 pm after been sent by my doctor to ward 20 with an abcess under my arm i was told to wait in waiting room.i waited and waited no one came to see me to say they were busy. i was fianlly seen by doctor at 11.15 when i was told i would need a general anesthetic to have it drained.11.20pm back to the waiting room to wait for nurse to come and take details from me .finally seen by the nurse at 12.30.i was told not to eat or drink and to go home and come back at 7am.

7am... back in waiting room and nurse came to see me at 9.30 took all details and put tag on me for me to be admitted (no beds) i sat in waiting room for ages then was seen by anethatist . then someon came to fit a needle in my arm.i sat in that waiting room until 4.30 pm before they found me a bed on ward 28 a room on my own .having still not eaten or anything to drink since the day before.i was told i could get theatre any time. no one came to see me until 7.45 when i was told my op had been cancelled due to them been busy. i did get to have a sandwich and cuppa. then back to no eating or drinking. spent the night there.saw doctor in morning who said my op would be done some time today (7th may) all day i sat and waited. then at 8.00 i was told i would be moved to ward 14. just as were going down in the lift a porter came for me to take me to theatre. so we all went down to ward 14 where i was very quickly put into a gown and socks put on me.(not even time to get a shower or bath) i finally had my op but the whole experience was totally very stressful. the staff on ward 14 were brilliant and very efficent. by the 9th of may i finally got to go home ...... what an ordeal !!!!

Anything else?

what more can i say!!!!

after then getting home i found out that i also would have to pay for all my dressings etc.... should i have not been sent home with some ..these dressings cost me £21.00 why?
